Marion Hawecker follows in the footsteps of traditional plumassiers / feather artists in the creation of her feather objects. Wandering between different artistic approaches and craft practices, she explores the material of the bird feather in various projects ranging from the creation and finishing of textiles to landscape and architectural installations, stage design and costumes.

In her own sculptures, bas-reliefs and jewellery, her work questions the concept of "nature", our relationship with the non-human living and its environment. Whether elemental, mineral, animal or vegetable, she observes the connection she makes with it and how she perceives it through her sensitivity. Through imitation, mimicry, analogies of form and silent evocations, she establishes connections between these worlds. Marion Hawecker is the winner of the Jeune Création Métiers d'Art 2021 prize of the Ateliers d'Art de France.
Some of the artist's objects will be exhibited by craft2eu at the GRASSIMESSE in Leipzig from 21 to 23 October 2022.
