Four forms are all around the day to serve stylish meals, snacks and drinks and / or to stage flower arrangements. "Less is more" is a current trend. The creative use of colors is another one. Get a feast for the eyes with the elegant, wonderfully sophisticated porcelain by Helene Scharge.
Years of experience are the basis for successfully dyeing white porcelain mass with specially developed colored bodies and successfully processing it into reliable vessels and plates that meet modern requirements. Dishwasher safe and suitable for the microwave. “Every single product is cast into plaster molds by hand. Then it is plastered and gets its strength from the subsequent incandescent firing so that it can be processed further. It is sanded, glazed and fired the second time. In order to maintain the fine, velvety surface of the bisque porcelain, the finished piece is polished," reveals Helene Scharge, "I manufacture every piece 100% by hand in my porcelain workshop in Leipzig."
The designer Helene Scharge is an extraordinary specialist. In the mid-1980s she trained as a potter and operated her own ceramic workshop in the Altmark until 1997. This was followed by her studies at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle, where she graduated. From 2003-2011 she worked in a workshop with Jens Pfotenhauer in Leipzig, was involved in course and project work in the field of ceramics and followed a practical scholarship from the German Academy Rome to Villa Massimo in 2009.
In 2015/2016 she founded her own porcelain workshop with which she specialized in the development of minimalist tableware made of colored porcelain. For this very special collection of hand-made porcelain, the production of which is truly a technical challenge, she has received the highest recognition from both colleagues and customers.
The harmony of her objects, their light, pastel color palette in combination with the clear shapes and a wonderful feel is very individual and distinctive.
